Tom “King” Magnuson was the voice of Wausau East Athletics from 1995 until 2021. During that time, he covered Football, Basketball, Baseball and Hockey for East Athletics. Some of his career highlights included the following: The East/West Log Games, State Basketball appearances, the rebuild of East Hockey under Coach Dan Bauer, and back-to-back state appearances in baseball.

Tom was a committed athlete at Wausau East, lettering three years in baseball and two years in cross country.

In addition to all that he has done for the Lumberjack family through his coverage of East High athletics, Tom has also played an important role in the development of athletes in the Wausau community through his coaching of the American Legion Baseball Team.

Tom has been inducted into both the Wisconsin Baseball and American Legion Hall of Fame. He is currently an assistant baseball coach at Wausau East High School. He continues to inspire others through his commentary articles and blogs that focus on sports.
